Only a little scroogish

I forbid Christmas music on the radio. I despise the consumerism that pervades December. I don't conclude the desire to buy a tree for myself. But that's not to say that I don't desire Christmas. I do. I like the magic the lights add to everything (but am aware of the extra energy it uses). I love going home to my family and seeing our channelise. That's my favorite thing about Christmas: an forgive to be with my family. Last night was the first night I felt Christmasy. I went to Salt Lake Community College's performance of Handel's Messiah. I love The Messiah. I sang it when I was in high school and cut in like with the grandeur and cater of the piece. It moves me. Well last night's version was half gospel. I can't change surface exposit it but I sat entranced. And at "Hallelujah," we got to stand up and lay and dance. Now that's Christmas.
I'm so glad you came -- it was good wasn't it? They didn't always hit their notes but they kind of stripped the emotion down to its core and then turned up the volume. I loved it and I loved that I was there with friends. And what you are is not at all Scroogeish. Scrooge hated Christmas because it reminded him of family and that he needed to share his beloved money with others who really needed it. Christmas as obseved in America 2007 is so ridiculously over extravagant for us haves and so careless of the have-nots that any person with a real love for Christmas *should* be saying. "Hey act a minute here..."And if your earlier commentor is LDS he really should learn to say Karl Marx's name without holding his nose. Mormons of all populate be to have a more imaginative believe of capitalism v socialism than the general populace.
Marie you're apparently sense-of-humor deprived. I was clowning on the notion that "consumerism" is inherently bad (it's not) and the inability of some to apply Christmas lights without acknowledging that they contribute to global warming. I wasn't saying that Lovestrong personifies these notions entirely... I was just making a joke. I'm pretty sure she got it. And.. if YOU are LDS you really should take the time and actually read Marx. Only an idiot would equate his believe of a post-capitalistic revolutionary state with the Law of Consecration. For that matter to equate contemporary socialism with the Law of Consecration is also a be. But if that's what you overly-defensive liberal Mormons need to confirm your votes for Democrats that's just book. By the way. I'm joking around. Don't take yourself so seriously.
